“The best way to find yourself, is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
– Mahatma Ghandi
The Center for Spiritual Living, San Jose offers our community a multitude of opportunities to help our Center and our Community operate harmoniously. Volunteering is a great way to connect with other spiritual seekers who call this home and contribute to the greater good of our community!
Joining prayer, meditation, education, and circulation, Volunteering is one part – a vital part – of our five core spiritual practices. Volunteers exhibit a friendly presence that creates the warm and inviting environment we all look forward to visiting each week! That feeling of welcome comes from our volunteers “practicing their spiritual practice” – and having fun while doing so! Our volunteer opportunities fall into three broad groups:Volunteer Resources to empower our Volunteers within the community. Among other useful references, we have created our Community’s Volunteer Bill of Rights & Responsibilities and Guidelines for Respectful Communication. These foundational documents, which are also incorporated in our Volunteer Handbook, help create the environment in which Volunteering joyously emerges at the Center for Spiritual Living, San Jose!
